Whether you’re an experienced traveller or going on your first holiday, it really does pay to do a little research and be prepared for the destination you’re about to reach.

Continue reading this article to find out everything you need to pack for your Brisbane holiday (and what you don’t). Hopefully, after reading this article, you’ll be more informed and will remember to pack everything that you need for a fantastic Brisbane holiday!
1. Medical supplies and toiletries
I’m sure you’ve considered packing your essential medical supplies and toiletries for your Brisbane holiday. However, make sure to pack sunblock as well. Australia is notorious for receiving abnormally high UV radiation and sunblock is the best way to protect yourself. It only takes about 10 minutes to get sunburnt in Brisbane, so do not forget your sunblock!
Also, consider carrying insect repellents, moisturisers, basic first aid supplies, antiseptic creams and Band-Aids. These will be essential if you spend time outdoors, away from your Brisbane City accommodation and shopping areas. And believe me, you will – given that Brisbane has so many outdoor attractions for you to enjoy.
2. Weather gear, shoes and clothing
Brisbane has pleasant weather all year-round. As such, when it comes to clothing and footwear, pack comfortable items. A mix of shorts and long pants and a light jacket should suffice. If you’re visiting Brisbane in summer, be sure pack some wet weather gear and an umbrella as Brisbane often cops afternoon storms. Make sure to pack sunglasses and a hat as well.
If you’re visiting during the winter then I suggest you pack a jumper. While our winters aren’t particularly cold, it can get a little chilly if the sun isn’t out.
3. Photography equipment
Brisbane boats gorgeous scenery both in and around the city so you’ll want to make sure to remember to pack your camera. Additionally, if you’re planning on spending time out in nature, away from the comforts of your Brisbane City accommodation, then be sure to also pack extra batteries.
4. Accommodation comforts
If you’re staying in self-catered accommodation, such as the apartments here at Bridgewater Terraces, you won’t need to pack too much else.

5. Must haves
Ok listen up; these are the ‘must have’ items to pack for your Brisbane holiday. If you pack nothing else, be sure to have lightweight luggage, comfortable footwear and lots of mosquito repellent and sunscreen.
These items will really come handy when you’re out and about exploring the city, away from your accommodation.
