The Best Attractions to Visit In Brisbane This Year

Brisbane is a city with lots of interesting attractions. There’s so much to see and do that it is only natural to look for the best way to fit everything in to your schedule. Of course, whether you can visit all the Brisbane attractions while you are here, is really dependent upon how long you plan to stay.

If you only have a short stay, the best way to plan your schedule is to narrow down on the best Brisbane attractions. Doing so will provide you with the best experience for your holiday.

Whether you are a sports fan, enjoy the arts, or you love to bask in the wonders of nature, there is something for you in Brisbane. I have curated the best attractions in Brisbane and if you are staying at Bridgewater Terraces, you will find that accessing many of these Brisbane attractions is a breeze.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

For animal lovers, you are going to love the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, the world’s first and largest koala sanctuary. In addition to being able to see and hold one of the cutest animals ever, you can also see several other animals as this sanctuary is home to 100 species of Australian wildlife. Fancy a platypus sighting, anyone?

Mount Coot-tha Lookout

Give yourself a treat with a gorgeous view of the city, by going to Mount Coot-tha lookout. And while you are there, take in the fresh mountain air and try the delicious meal at the kiosk. A short 20 minute drive from Kangaroo Point, you’ll have no trouble getting to this Brisbane attraction if you are staying with us at Bridgewater Terraces.

Brisbane Botanic Gardens

Not too far from the Mount Coot-tha lookout is Brisbane Botanic Gardens. This beautiful oasis of nature is something you won’t want to miss. There is so much to see here, from the gorgeous river, to the several plant species found in the garden. It’s a great place for kids and you can pack a picnic for some al fresco dining.

Gallery of Modern Art

In the mood for some cultural infusion? Why not stop by the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) and take in the stunning collection of historical, modern and contemporary art. Don’t miss the Marvel Exhibition, which has the largest collection of Marvel’s comic characters in the world.

Queensland Performing Arts Centre

For some more arts and culture, visit the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. The architectural magnificence of the building is sure to fill you with wonder. Step inside for some really fantastic shows. There is something for every age here.

CityCat Ferry

Let’s take things outdoors with the relaxing CityCat ferry ride. The perfect way to get around in Brisbane, you can see the best Brisbane attractions from the river. It’s affordable, comfortable and a great way to see the sights of the city in one day. Moreover, you can catch the Ferry from Holman Street Ferry Wharf, just 200 metres from our apartments in Kangaroo Point.

CityHopper

Really love taking river trips? Why not try the CityHopper? It’s a lovely way to get to South Bank or the City. This free and fun ride is one you definitely should experience if you are visiting Brisbane. You can also catch a CityHopper from Holman Street Ferry Wharf.

Suncorp Stadium

Catch a Rugby game at the Suncorp Stadium and experience the awe-inspiring wonder of the stadium. Not a rugby fan, there are several other games that take place at the stadium or you can attend any of the concerts that hold here regularly.

Kangaroo Point Cliffs Park

The cliffs alone are a great Brisbane attraction, but if you need additional incentive, then the fact that this is one of the prettiest walking places in Brisbane might help. A great place to have a picnic, you can also plan to walk, jog or run at this scenic spot. There’s also a pretty spectacular sunset here as well. This attraction is also very close to our apartments, just 1km away in fact.

Conclusion

There are so many really wonderful places to see in Brisbane. I have tried to narrow down a few that will give you the ultimate experience, but if you have a longer stay planned, you can go on city tours or visit additional Brisbane attractions like Catholic Old St. Stephen’s Church, the Queensland Maritime Museum and Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium.

If you need affordable accommodation while you are in Brisbane, you should consider Bridgewater Terraces. Located at Kangaroo Point, we are central to all the Brisbane attractions, which makes it easier for you to get around.
