You may have already been to many Brisbane cafes for brunch. But, if you’re looking to catch up with friends for a relaxed Sunday brunch, why not try somewhere new. And, given that our city takes brunch seriously, you’re sure to get great food and service from any café – new or old.
So, continue reading this post as I list 5 of the best Brisbane cafes that you can visit for your next Sunday lunch.
1. Asana by Pete Evans | Brisbane CBD
Asana is one of my favourite Brisbane cafes and I often find myself there on Sundays to enjoy a sumptuous brunch with some close friends. Nestled in Albert Street, Asana has earned a reputation of being one of the finest in Brisbane CBD.
Asana specialises in paleo dishes. But, don’t let that fool you – their breakfast buffet is wholesome, delicious and healthy. And, you really don’t have to follow a paleo diet to enjoy brunch here.
2. Wild Canary | Brookfield
To combine Sunday brunch with a great escapist experience, head over to Wild Canary at the Brookfield Garden Centre. This secret garden oasis is located amidst scenic surroundings. And, with big forest chairs, large windows and an enviable menu, this café offers a quaint and enjoyable atmosphere.
Wild Canary serves up delectable organic food. In fact, every item on their menu is prepared with sustainability in mind. I’m a big fan of their cakes and halloumi and I can bet that you’ll love them as well!
3. Canteen Kitchen | Burleigh Heads (Gold Coast)
If you’re fond of beachside cafes, then you must pay a visit to Canteen Kitchen in Burleigh Heads. Now, this is on the Gold Coast, so around 1hr drive from Brisbane, but I promise you, it’s worth the drive. It’s my favourite destination Gold Coast destination for a Sunday brunch.
You can expect to find an array of delicious dishes. In particular, I’d like to recommend their chilli smoked trout and their scrambled eggs with flat bread, green olives and labneh. These dishes will keep you wanting to go back to this amazing café for more!
4. Lost Boys | Fortitude Valley
Fortitude Valley is well known as Brisbane’s party and nightlife destination. As such, it should come as no surprise that there are plenty of cafes in this Brisbane destination. Lost Boys is one such café which warrants your attention.
Their entrance welcomes customers with a game of rock paper scissors and winners are treated to free coffee. And, the café presents gorgeous natural interiors with leaf canopy ceilings, winding vines, sprouting branches, a giant tree, a rope bridge and low strung lights.
Lost Boys offers an entire vegetarian menu for you to enjoy. And, they are carbon neutral, so having brunch at this café will actually help the world.
5. Chester Street Bakery | Newstead
If you have a sweet tooth, then Chester Street Bakery in Newstead is where you want to be for your Sunday Brunch. This café may be quaint, but it offers some of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted. It is a sister café to Alfred & Constance, another popular café in Brisbane.
Chester Street Bakery offers pleasing interiors with iconic blue tiles and mismatched tables. While you should definitely try their cakes, you can also have a wholesome brunch at this cafe. My personal favourite is their Twix cake with potato chips. Do try it out and I can bet you’ll love it as much as I do!
Conclusion:
