Here are 5 of my top reasons why you should visit Brisbane in July. Hopefully, after you read through, you’ll agree with me and plan a holiday accordingly.

1. It’s Winter

Although July is the second month of winter in Australia, the weather in Brisbane is still relatively warm with amazing blue skies. This makes July a popular choice for visitors looking to escape cooler climates in the southern states. Brisbane experiences average temperatures ranging from 10°C-22°C and the weather isn’t too humid or too hot. Moreover, the average sea temperature is a pleasant 19°C. It’s no wonder we receive so many guests here at Bridgewater Terraces in July!

2. It’s a great time to go Whale Watching

July is also the perfect time to go whale watching, which is a major attraction with our guests at Bridgewater Terraces. During winter, whales often head to the shores of North Stradbroke Island, Bribie Island and nearby bay-side areas in Brisbane. If you choose July for your Brisbane holiday, you’ll certainly get to see the magnificent sea mammals in action by partaking in one of the many whale watching cruises on offer.

3. You can celebrate Christmas in July, amongst other events

By visiting Brisbane in July, you can celebrate Christmas off-season and also partake in many other fantastic events! If you’re a fan of sports, you can watch Queensland Reds take on the Brumbies on Friday, July 7, or watch the Brisbane Lions compete against the Geelong Cats on Saturday, July 8.

You can also attend Le Festival – the Brisbane French Festival or attend the Brisbane BBQ Festival, both happening from Friday, July 7 to Sunday, July 9.

Music and theatre lovers can attend The Bodyguard – The Musical from Wednesday, July 19 to Sunday, July 23. And for socio-cultural events, you can enjoy the Brisbane Food & Wine Expo from Friday, July 21 to Sunday, July 23 or be a part of Brisbane’s Annual Wedding Expo on Sunday, July 23.

4. There’s also no shortage of things to do!

Apart from the events that I have listed above, you can also enjoy various other activities in Brisbane in July. Thanks to the perfect weather, you can go on day trips around the city or enjoy a round of golf. The weather is also perfect for exploring the beauty of our majestic city on foot.

5. It’s a great time squeeze in a holiday before school holidays end

School holidays in Brisbane end on July 16, so it’s a great time to squeeze in a family holiday. And, for family friendly accommodation in Brisbane, look no further than our holiday apartments at Bridgewater Terraces. We offer a range of spacious 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom self-contained apartments in Kangaroo Point – close to Brisbane’s major attractions.
