Spanish Film Festival

Drop by the Palace Cinemas this week to take a peek at the best Spanish films of recent times. The 20th edition of this grand festival will give you a good taste of what Spanish films have to offer. Certainly, an event not to be missed!

The Spanish Film Festival starts today and runs through to Sunday, from 6:00pm onwards at Palace Centro Cinemas in 39 James Street, Fortitude Valley. Admission to this festival is free of charge.

The Story of Brisbane

Set next to the Brisbane River, The Story of Brisbane celebrates the works of the best writers of our city. Join award winning actors as they capture the fascinating story of our city in the words of poets and writers. This event promises to be packed with humour, anecdotes and engaging information.

The Story of Brisbane s Wednesday, May 10 from 10:00am-11:00am at Brisbane Powerhouse in 119 Lamington Street, New Farm. Tickets for this event are priced at $30.

Jan Powers Farmers Markets

Brisbane is famous for hosting local markets and the Jan Powers Farmers Markets is a popular one. You’ll find fresh produce, baked goods, honey, smoked salmon and hot foods from all over the world at this market. The best part is that it is an organic market and everything you’ll find here is good for health.

Jan Powers Farmers Markets is on Wednesday, May 10 from 8:00am-6:00pm at Queen Street Mall in Brisbane CBD.

Art Enquirer

This week, art enthusiasts have a chance to revel in a unique experience at the Art Enquirer program. This program features established mentors who will hone the skills of aspiring writers. Moreover, all essays written will be published by the Institute of Modern Art.

Art Enquirer is held at the Institute of Modern Art in 420 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley. The event kicks off at 9:00am, Friday, May 12 and ends Saturday, May 13. Tickets to this program are priced at $195 for day students and $295 for residential students.
