Obviously, my personal recommendations are the self-contained apartments here at Bridgewater Terraces. We offer 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, catering for groups of 4 to 6 people, at affordable rates. If you have arrived by car, you’ll be pleased to know we offer secure undercover car parking, although our convenient location means that a car is not essential to get out and about.

If you are travelling with young children, you will find the ground floor apartments most convenient, in case you are carrying sleepy children worn out from the day’s activities. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, so you can easily have the children fed and comfortable without having to go out for every meal, while having your own laundry is a bonus with little ones.
However, your Kangaroo Point holiday apartment is not just your home away from home – it’s also your base for all that is fun and exciting. A short stroll from the apartments and you will find ample parklands for a game and a picnic, while the opportunities to kayak on the river, climb the Kangaroo Point Cliffs or climb/abseil the Story Bridge are sure to appeal to the tweens and teens in your group.

Why not hop onto one of the bikes available through the CityCycle program and enjoy a family ride along the dedicated bike paths? By using the network of bike stations throughout the Brisbane area, it is possible to see all that Brisbane city has to offer. There are dedicated children’s areas at the Gallery of Modern Art, the Queensland Museum, the State Library of Queensland and the Science Centre, while the City Botanic Gardens provide playgrounds and a lush oasis in the centre of the CBD. Travel another 3 kms to South Bank and you can paddle in the beach lagoon, visit the Epicurious Garden and attend open air movie nights and free concerts.
If you have access to a car, a drive to D’Aguilar National Park and Walkabout Creek has a small wildlife centre, ideal for your young family with short presentations, animal exhibits and a pleasant cafe. Or you can visit Lamington National Park where, at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, you can experience a fabulous treetop canopy walk while enjoying the sights and sounds of the lush surrounding rainforest.
Staying at Bridgewater Terraces, your Kangaroo Point holiday apartment, is also a great location for full day trips – approximately an hour’s drive and you can be north at Redcliffe or Bribie Island, or south at the Gold Coast. No family holiday would be complete without visiting at least one of the Gold Coast Theme parks. With the choice of Wet and Wild, Movie World, SeaWorld, Whitewater World or Dream World, the kids will have a wonderful day out without the huge expense of Gold Coast accommodation.
After a busy day out, you can return to your Kangaroo Point holiday apartment at Bridgewater Terraces, and relax on your private balcony taking in the views of the Brisbane River and the lush gardens, or watch the kids playing in our lagoon style pool. With a complex of 38 apartments, the children are sure to make some new friends during your stay and our pool and BBQ area is a perfect spot for families to socialise and get to know each other. If you are after a night off cooking, then a short ferry ride over the river to Eagle St Pier will allow you the choice of filling, family friendly meals at a variety of venues, such as Pony, Grill’d, Stellarossa, Cha Cha Char or the Coffee Club. Then, it’s just a short trip back to your apartment for everyone to sleep and recover ready for your next action packed day.
